About the Role

We’re seeking a detail-focused Payroll Officer to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you take ownership of managing the payroll processes and providing payroll insights and advice to both the Financial Controller and People & Culture. Whether you’re looking to reduce hours or grow your career full-time, this role can be tailored to suit you.

Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Manage and maintain the payroll system and associated processes.
  • Process fortnightly payroll, including salaries, hourly rates, allowances and special payments such as incentive and termination payments.
  • Prepare monthly superannuation and payroll tax submissions, payments and reconciliations.
  • Prepare end of month reporting including annual and long service leave provisions and labour accruals.
  • Work closely with People & Culture to onboard and offboard employees.
  • Opportunity to participate in additional finance-related tasks and projects on an ad hoc basis.

This role offers genuine flexibility to fit your lifestyle and working preferences. For the right person, we’re open to part-time (30 hours per week) or full-time (up to 37.5 hours per week) preferences, depending on what works for you.

We also support hybrid working, with a minimum of two days in-office attendance per week to promote team connection and collaboration. You’ll be joining a professional, supportive, and approachable team where your payroll expertise will be valued and where your contribution will make a real impact.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally bring most or all of the following:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, operating across multiple states.
  • Comfortable using Excel for reporting and analysis, with the ability to use formulas, lookups and pivot tables in Excel,
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills.

Although not essential to the position, the knowledge of TechnologyOne finance systems and/or previous experience in the Financial Services industry will be highly regarded.
